At EDA we welcome ballet students of all genders, starting independent learning from age 3, with classes running right through to adults and our Silver Swans programme for ages 50+. It’s never too late to begin.

Our highly experienced teachers provide individual attention and expert guidance, focusing on safe, structured training that develops dancers step by step, from early foundations to vocational levels for those pursuing pre-professional pathways.

EDA follows the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) syllabus, offering OFQUAL-recognised qualifications that count towards UCAS points. Alongside R.A.D, we also integrate the Australian Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) programme to strengthen technique and understanding. Our students gain not only strong technical skills, but also anatomy knowledge, musicality, and artistry. Creating intelligent dancers with beautiful lines and lasting ability.

For those taking exams, the R.A.D requires a minimum of 1.5 hours of ballet per week in preparation. For students who prefer not to take official exams, EDA offers in-house class assessments - ensuring every dancer achieves the same high standard before moving to the next level.​​​​​

This is a GUIDE to the age requirements.
The teachers have final say.
Candidates must reach the required minimum age by 31 December in the year in which they are taking the examination.
There will be no exceptions to this rule and this cannot be dictated by friendship groups.
